Conclusion:They're pretty amazing! They remind me a lot of broken social scene before they followed the typical mainstream path. Although Broken Social Scene will always have a space in my heart, Freelance Whales is definitely sitting right there with them.

Conclusion: Their first CD Tell it to the Volcanoes is a great fun Summer CD. If you haven't listened to it then it is definitely worth your time! I can't wait to see them at Lollapalooza and I realllllly hope they come to Toronto.

The National

Forget the bio, let's start off with what I'm listening to right now! :)

The National

[Left to Right: Bryce Dessner (Guitar), Brian Devendorf (Drums), Matt Berninger (Lead Vocals), Scott Devendorf (Guitar), and Aaron Dessner (Bass)]

-Formed in 1991
-They started off in Ohio, but all members came together in Brooklyn, NY.
-I think the lead singer sounds like Mikel Jollett from Airborne Toxic Event (thats just my opinion lol)
-Lead singer + two sets of brothers (if you didn't notice the similarities in the last names haha)


The National - Fake Empire

They have shows coming up at Massey Hall, Tuesday, June 8th, 2010, and Wednesday, June 9th, 2010.

They are also making an appearance at Lollapalooza 2010! :D
